About the Malta Plein Air Meet Up 2026, from 25th to the 29th September.

This a free Meet Up suitable for Plein Air Artists experienced in painting in urban environments. It is open to artists who register (see information below). Registrations will be limited to a manageable number of participants. The Meet Up Format: we meet up at prearranged locations each day. Artists select where they would like to paint and set up their equipment. N.B. You are not chaperoned whilst painting and as part of your registration you agree to accept sole responsibility for the carrying and setting up of your own equipment safely.

After painting Artists were invited to return to the meeting point and line up their work for group photo and video of the paintings.

The Meet Up in 2025 was a great success with artists enjoying each others company and the wonderful locations. Many brought their partners who also enjoyed a holiday. We paint early morning or after 3pm to avoid midday heat. The remainder of the day you are free to enjoy Malta. Many questions are answered in the FAQ’s.

Registration Process

Step 1: Join the Whats App group

Initially interest is expressed by emailing Amanda with your whats app contact number via this website's contact form. You will then be added to the Malta Plein Air Meet Up 2026 Whats App Group. Where you can chat together.

Step 2: Formal Registration and confirmation of participation

Formal registration is now open. Please read T&C’s carefully and then complete the online registration form via the button below (or button in the footer).

You must receive a formal confirmation email before you are confirmed as a participant.

Accommodation Area for Artists & family from overseas

There is huge variety of choice from hotels to apartments. The map shows key areas to stay please visit the Accommodation page for a detailed description of each area.

Please chat together on Whats App if you wish to be in a group and close to each other. I cannot recommend  accommodation as I never use it. I live in Birgu.

Online Exhibition

This is optional - as a participating artist you are invited to submit a minimum of 2 artworks created en plein air during the 5 days of the event.

Sales: Artists who sell will make a 15% donation direct to our nominated Charity Dar tal-Providenza which provides residential services to persons with disabilities
